A New Face for PodCamp AZ

podcampaz.jpg

I spend last night (literally… all of it) rebuilding the website for PodCamp AZ. Most of you know that I am organizing this event out here in AZ and with the recent finalization of our venue, UAT, we have a lot of work to do to get things ready for the big November 3rd weekend. Up until now, the site had a lot of design functionality issues and it needed a complete rework so that it could better serve the purpose it needs to promote the event. Seing that this project is a labor of love, it’s always been hard to devote the necessary time to a project like this, but I hope that the last 24 hours were spent wisely and productively so that PodCamp AZ will benefit from the work I’ve done here. Awwww… Thanks!

This week I received a box of “swag” from Alex over at Media Temple. I gotta say that the whole Justine move thing was a bumpy road, but in the end, a total series of unfortunate events. The response email and follow up conference call more than made up for any sort of frustration we felt on behalf of their tech crew. But as if that wasn’t enough, I got a nice box of stuff from (mt) and that was totally unexpected. (mt) You guys really rock and I am honored to be your customer. Thank you for caring and going way above and beyond to make things right.

Michelle’s Birthday Fund

Michelle, my wife, is having her birthday this month (the 26th). And I have this crazy idea… Honestly, I have done this a couple times before, but never blogged about it or opened it up to the general population. Mainly because I’m betting that you don’t really care, but you could prove me wrong (yet once again). This year, since it’s an extra special year (she’s pregnant with our first), I thought I’d try something new and exciting. Let me start out by saying that she’s not that much of a blogger, but I’m hoping this event will inspire her to blog all the more. I know that at the very least, she will personally thank everyone who participates because she is just that kind of girl. Okay, here’s how it works… [Continued]

Enter to win a new 20″ iMac

I spent the morning getting acquainted with  a fellow iBAM’er. Mike and his blog, DevDad.com have partnered up with SitterCity.com and they are holding a contest/giveaway to help promote his site a bit. I thought my giveaways were cool, but he has really raised the bar with his “Stay At Home Dad iMac Give-Away“. After conversing with him over email for about an hour, I found it interesting talking to him about some of the things he does to actually be a “stay at home dad”. All in all, it turns out that Mike is a pretty sharp guy and I’m impressed that he’s a loyal iBAM enthusiast. I’m always excited to hear stories from the iBAM crew so a reciprocating link was the least I could do. After bouncing through some of his recent posts, I really started to like his style and definitely related to what he does for a living as I’m in the same business (sort of). All in all, it was fun meeting him and reading his posts. Thanks for reaching out Mike!

Take a second and stop by his site to look around. It’s worth the trip. Best of luck to you, Mike.
