I just downloaded OmmWriter for Mac and I am so impressed! What an awesome app. It’s a free download (while in Beta I assume). If you are any form of a writer in any way, you should try this app too. So… Check out the video above and give it a try. After that, let us know what YOU think.

i think it is incredibly simple but nice and clean looking. a few things that could be added in the future include your own backgrounds, or sounds.

Oooo… Great Idea! Or even streaming radio? GrooveSalad anyone? :)

I'm giving it a try. I will confess I found myself wanting a few more options, mainly as far as backgrounds go. I wonder where they're going to go with it…

Most importantly, though, even though I didn't have anything to write, I found myself not wanting to close it. That's gotta be worth something.

Interesting! For the past year or so, I've been using WriteRoom when I have to write/create something. More recently I've used Mariner Write a few times. I'll give this baby a try next time I need to write. Anything to avoid MS Word!

    I wholeheartedly agree! :)

Downloaded and really like it. Wasn't a big fan of Write Room or Mariner Write but for text only “stuff” this fills a niche that I don't has been looked at yet.

I like it… It “forces” you to focus on the task at hand with no distractions.

Okay, so I just tried using OmmWriter for real. I had written about 900 words of a new short story…and then it just beachballed, irrecoverably. :( I lost it all. Because I had been so focused on the writing process itself, I never even stopped to save. It never even occurred to me that it'd just stop working like that, mid-stream. I have to say that really soured me to it.

I'll give it another chance, and I understand it's beta, but BE CAREFUL!
