I just received another email from a frustrated new Mac user. Lara is having a hard time with iWeb and since I’m not much f an iWeb user, I thought I’d throw it out on the table for you guys to take a stab at. Here’s her email.

Hi,

I just built myself a website on iweb and I do have a .mac account, I’ve been
trying to get the site published and It’s just not working.  I followed the
instructions I got from .mac about the changes I needed to make at my domain
host (yahoo).  I think they left some info out in the directions to publish.
Have you any advise or run into anyone with this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Most of these errors I find are authentication errors somewhere along the way. Most of the password are case sensitive so any typo can cause problems. If your doing any domain redirection it can take up to 48 hours for the domains to resolve properly also causing problems. If they a sure everything is correct shoot an email to yahoo support sometimes you can encounter dns errors when redirecting domains

Try exporting as html/css or whatever iWeb exports as and upload it on you’re yahoo account manually.

make sure the ftp program you use to upload the files can support UTF-8 text encoding – I had problems with this myself
