Alright David, I made one! pretty cool, I might add! nice feature. I made a string that searches iboughtamac.com (i.e. “ibam opendns”). I love your directions idea, that’s gonna be my next one for sure.

BTW: Yohannes just sent me a direct message through Twitter saying he made an ibam search string on yubnub.org – works great too (just type “ibam [search term]“) – Thanks Yohannes!

We have an internal ticketing system called “trac” that we use. so I type “trac [ticket#]” and go directly there about a million times a day.

I do “office [some address]” and get directions from my office to another site pretty frequently too.

Brent, continuing on our conversation yesterday on the dns issue, my preliminary conjecture that opendns’ shortcuts wont work if we use public wi-fi (since we dont know if a particular public wi-fi uses opendns or not) has been proven wrong for we can insert the 2 dns server addresses directly to Mac’s network preferences under TCP/IP tab. I didnt realize this. In my home setup, my apple extreme base station is the one that store those 2 dns server addressses not my macs. Having your (portable)macs store those 2 dns server addresses instead will let you access your opendns’ shortcuts regardless of any public wifi you use.

I’m glad setup was easy. Did you try out the bookmarklet? If you go to a page like finance.yahoo.com and do a search, then click the bookmarklet on the search results page you’ll see how to create an “advanced” shortcut.
