iBoughtAMac Logo Contest Winner

ibam_winner.jpg

We have a winner and his name is Christopher Ware! Congratulations Christopher, your logo now graces the iBAM screen space. I can’t even express how great it was to have this contest and to see all the amazing designs that were submitted. I think we will need to use as many of them for as many things as the designers will allow us to. With over 60 submissions, the competition was fierce and there were so many great designs to pick from. With a three way tie, Justine tried to vote at the Apple Store in SF while on Justin.tv but the Internet wasn’t cooperating so she came in with the last vote live tonight on GeekRiot, then announced it live via TalkShoe & Geek Riot.

Thanks Shawn for allowing us to invade your show.

Another massive thanks to all the judges who jumped in and participated. You guys were great and it was really awesome getting to know you better and with some, getting to know you for the very first time. Your support was paramount and I deeply appreciate it.

Over the next few weeks, I will be publishing updates and notes concerning the entries and contacting some of the designers for further usage. With so many great designs, we can’t let them go to waste. Your thoughts, ideas and suggestions are always welcome.

Now… Here’s one good question for all the iBAM community. Should we make t-shirts and would you buy one? I think it would be cool to have an iBoughtAMac t-shirt with some sort of nifty slogan or something. This cute little logo would look great on a shirt, I think. What are your thoughts? For me, it’s back to work, I have a lot of posts to catch up on. Thanks again to all! You really make this site fun!

What should we name our community site?

I would LOVE to buy a t-shirt and I think the logo is really great. I think an embroidered light blue on darker blue logo would be really awesome!

But seriously, you should now reconsider changing your name. I agree with Sammy. Now you should come up with a contest to rename your website.

Because if somebody can picture your heart/Mac logo in their head, but forgets the name of your website it will create a problem in the relation of the two.
    Because...umm...there is no relation.
  • Hrmmm I think a previous comment about Rule #8 just might be right ...
  • Sammy
Hmmm... perhaps the site should be called "iLAM" for I Love a Mac?

I don't get it, shouldn't the design be more related to the ideas of the site? Which is to cater for new Mac Users who just bought a Mac?

"I love a Mac" applies more generic to all mac users, new and old.

    Yeah I second Rule #8.

Don't bend the rules to your own competition.
  • Rule #8 - Logo must not contain any previously copyrighted elements that would get us in trouble with their subsequent creator(s).
  • Many thanks to Brent and the rest of the judges. There were a ton of great entries for the contest. I'm pretty shocked my logo ended up being selected.
  • The new logo is definitely 'cute'. I think it does a good job conveying the feeling that new mac users do (or should) feel. Congrats to Christopher.
  • Hey brent, nice to see the contest was a success! The logo looks nice and fits well with the site design. You'll have to see if Christopher would be nice enough to review the AppleTV for iBAM :)
  • I'd buy a shirt but I wouldn't wear it anywhere near Steve Jobs.

Haha, like I'd ever be within 10 miles of Steve Jobs.
  • I think it's kinda cool on the b/w version how it doesn't have the bottom of the heart. I dunno, I think we can make it pretty cool.
  • I'd buy a shirt, but I have a there-can't-be-a-heart-on-it policy with myself. Seriously. :\
  • Are you kidding me, Brent? of course, it's a wicked idea. I will be the first to buy the shirt. :)
