Robert Scoble: “I Love My New Mac”

I totally missed this one today while I was in our monthly meeting. To Mac users, this is not the most gigantic news, but it’s pretty cool in my book… About a month ago I was sitting behind Robert Scoble in a Phoenix, AZ social media seminar thing. There was this panel of semi-interesting people educating entrepreneurs about social media and Robert was slated to speak at the end of the presentation. I was starting to fall asleep a bit while one lady took over the conversation for nearly 30 minutes when I noticed Robert, sitting in front of me with his laptop, blogging (unlike me, he had a cell WiFi Card). While wishing the seminar had WiFi (yeah, social media seminar, I know) for my new MacBook Pro to hook into, I chuckled to myself and occupied the rest of my time Twittering from my cell phone about Robert and the craziness of the event.

I remember asking myself, “Why doesn’t Robert have a Mac? With all the blogging and Scoble Show stuff and the fact that he’s not really tied to Microsoft anymore… Interesting.”

Today, I find extreme pleasure in finding out that he too has joined the ranks of those of us who “jumped in fully clothed.” Welcome to the party Robert, I hope you have as much fun as I’m having – “I’m lovin’ it and don’t wanna go back!”

  • I heard... I would be the last to say that Mac's don't crash. I have worked mine out pretty hard and had to hold the old power button down more than once. All in all though, I am very happy and wouldn't even think of switching back.

Welcome to the family Steve, keep up posted on your discoveries!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Unfortunately, Scoble's new Mac crashed in a big way, which launched a fresh PC vs. Mac war. Kinda funny...

Oh, and Brent, hope all is well with you. After seeing you and Scott B. comparing tricks on your Macs, I gave them another look. One of my main workstations died and I replaced it with an iMac. Running Parallels to run my Windows based development tools - very slick. Thinking about offing my Vista notebook and buying a second-hand Mac notebook. A lot of business associates are also going over to Mac. I think we're beginning to see a fresh wave of converts because Vista is so disappointing.

    Take Care,
    Steve
  • welcome to the real bliss!
  • Beautiful.
  • haha... I do subscribe, believe me

readable? I wasn't the one who said readable, but that's okay (friendly HTH is good for the heart or something like that). Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it! once again... Congrats!

  • Brent: oh, and the font here is WAY too small to be readable. HTH. :-)
  • Brent: readable? My blog is the most readable out there. It uses the browser's default font. So, don't like it? Change the font in your browser!

Or, do what I do. Subscribe in an RSS News Aggregator. Then you won't care anymore about my design.

Thanks for the welcome into the Mac world!
  • haha... who knows? This could be a good experiment...

Now that he's got a Mac does that mean he'll design his blog so that it's actually readable? :)
