Google Desktop for Mac

11 years ago in Essential Apps by Brent | 5 Comments

In my Windows days, I became a profound fan of Google Desktop and all the nifty little things it can do. However, as most Windows applications tend to do, it slowed down my PC like mad so I had to uninstall it. Last night, I became aware of the recent release of Google Desktop for Mac and what can I say, I’m downloading it now as I type this post. Sure enough, there’s plenty of buzz about it and TUAW has a great little review of the features and a ton of comments already building up. So rather than plastering the Internet with “yet another” post, I figured I would just announce the release in case you hadn’t heard yet and open up the discussion (via comments) as we all re-discover the app together. Your Thoughts… Bring ’em on!

I really dont see any appeal for “Google Desktop”, but I do like Google Notifier for my gmail and google calendar. Those I see as being helpful.

i agree with chris.. i would probably add google notifier to the essential app list 🙂

I have been using it for a few days now and … yeah … don’t see a lot of use for Google Desktop, but I’m diggin notifier. Sweet app there!
