Yeah, normally I use the Go menu in the finder if I need a graphically menu, otherwise I use the terminal with FTP or curl.

Yeah, I knew about Fetch when I got the MacBook, so I downloaded that. I didn’t like it at all. A friend recommended Transmit and I never went back. Although I have to admit Jon’s Connect to Server technique sure comes in handy a lot.

I had a friend who suggested Fetch so I purchased it. Two days later I learned about CyberDuck. I wish I had knew about sooner simply because it’s free. But other than that Fetch is a great ftp client as well. I’m a new Macbook user as well and I’ll have to say it’s an awesome experience in use and aesthetics.

By the way, glad I found your website. I will definitely visit often.

Excellent! Thanks Jon (you get the "Mr. Helpful" award for today). I personally like Panic's Transmit for it's folders and what-not, but this is definitely a good helpful alternative. Also, many FTP sites can be accessed using the Finder’s “Go” menu (Cmd + K, Connect to Server…”

Once you log in, site shows up on the desktop just like a removable drive.

And I’d also recommend CyberDuck as a nice (and free) FTP client. Supports Secure FTP as well as plain old vanilla FTP.
