Mac Ads Boosting Apple Sales

PC Mac

We have all seen the Mac TV ads and I know of many mixed emotions that have risen as a result on both sides of the fence. PC fanatics are frustrated by them and Mac users are in stitches. Well, the numbers are in and it’s official, the Mac ads are boosting sales for Apple quite a bit. In fact, studies show that half of all Mac purchases today are made by non-Mac owners. That results in a huge rise in market share. While still the minority, a two percent raise in share from 3% to 5% in two years is a pretty large number when you are talking about the percent of ownership across the planet. I don’t know what the ads contribution was to my purchase, but I do think it had some part to play in the decision. Now, i’m not a marketing guy, but it does seem a bit dangerous to take shots at the competition, however fun it may be. Maybe it’s just not my style or I’m too paranoid that something will go wrong. Nevertheless, the ads are pretty funny, so it’s a draw in my book. If you are interested in learning more about the differences and benefits, visit Apple’s ‘Get a Mac’ page.

Here’s an update: I just found this page and had to pop this post back to most recent. It’s a page with every Apple ad… ever (I think). Check it out
